Corner, Dale, Grogan, Parker – Racing Club Portuense
Hello All, let us introduce ourselves and the reason for our blog.
After being released by our clubs, we were lucky enough to be selected to embark on LFE’s Leonardo Player Placement Programme which meant the four of us have been funded for 19 weeks to play for Racing Club Portuense in Spain.
Collectively we will be keeping you updated on our progress and experiences whilst in Seville. Our quartet is made up of: Josh Dale (ex-Rochdale), Connor Grogan (ex-Coventry City), Tom Corner (ex-Grimsby Town) & Lewis Parker (ex-Bristol Rovers).
Charlee Adams – Birmingham City FC
Hello, my name is Charlee Adams I am a first year Apprentice at Birmingham City FC. It is not long since I joined from West Ham United, where I played for nine years. I will be keeping you all up to date with a weekly blog about what’s going on in and around the training ground here at Wast Hills. I hope you enjoy reading what I have to say. Cheers!
Alex Wynter – Crystal Palace FC
Hello Readers, I’m Alex Wynter and I am 17 years old. I will start my second year as an Apprentice at Crystal Palace in the 2011/12 season. I signed a three year professional deal in 2010 after working my way up through the club since I joined as a nine year old. I made my first team debut in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday on the 2nd January 2010 at the age of 16 and have been on the bench a number of times since. I can play in central midfield and centre back and at the moment I’m really enjoying my time at Crystal Palace with my aim to break into the first team squad.
Jon Haynes – Walsall FC
Hello All! I’m Jon Haynes… I am into my third season at Walsall after having my Apprenticeship extended because of an injury I sustained last year. I am travelling with the U18’s squad to Holland for our pre-season tour. It will be me blogging from our camp because unfortunately I have dislocated my shoulder preventing me from playing but don’t worry I can still type! Thankyou for your comments.
Michael Kalu – Watford FC
My name’s Michael Kalu. I am a 2nd Year Apprentice at Watford FC and I play as a defender. I have agreed to represent our team as the blogger throughout the Leonardo pre-season tour. I will be reporting back with daily updates about what we get up to and especially about what happens on the pitch.
Max Kretzschmar – Wycombe Wanderers FC
I’m Max Kretzschmar and I am the captain of Wycombe Wanderers U18’s. Our pre-season this year will take place in Holland, where we will be competing in the LFE Invitational Tournament against English and Dutch sides. I will be keeping a diary about what happens on tour. Enjoy!
Dalton Harris – Scunthorpe United FC
Hello… I’m Dalton Harris and I play for Scunthorpe United. I am blogging for League Football Education during our pre-season tour to Holland. I will keep all you readers up to date with what’s going on in the Netherlands.
Adam Mekki – Aldershot Town FC
Adam is a second year Apprentice at Aldershot Town and along with the rest of the Youth team squad has travelled to Holland as part of LFE’s Pre-season Tours. Stay up to date with Adam and the team while they spend two weeks with FC Utrecht and KNVB.
Patrick Nzuzi – Newcastle United FC
Hello, my name is Patrick Nzuzi and I am a 1st Year Apprentice at Newcastle United. I’m originally from the Congo and I moved to England five years ago. My football involvement started at Wallsend Boys Club and I was scouted from there by Newcastle United. I have now been with the club since I was 13 and was delighted to sign as an Apprentice this summer. I am currently operating as a Right Back or Right Winger in the Club’s Academy and I look forward to keeping you updated about life as an Apprentice at St James’ Park over the course of this season.
Dan Pringle – Crystal Palace FC
Hello, my name is Dan Pringle and I am currently a first year Apprentice at Crystal Palace. I am a central defender, and have just left Riddlesdown High School after completing my GCSE’s. My blog will hopefully give you an insight into my life as an Apprentice Footballer and the personal experiences an Apprentice goes through.
Emmot Parr-Gallagher – Rotherham United FC
Emmot is a second year Apprentice at Rotherham United and along with the rest of the Youth team squad has travelled to Sweden as part of LFE’s Pre-season Tours. Stay up to date with Emmot and the team while they spend two weeks in Sundsvall and Ostersund.

James Hoad – Olympic Bob Skeleton Hopeful
After being released by Watford FC’s Academy back in 2007, James was given the opportunity to try out for a new sport via the Pitch2Podium talent transfer programme. James has transferred his skills into another sport which could take him all the way to the Olympic Games.
Tom Aldred – Carlisle United FC
The star of the 2007/08 season’s Soccer-AM Skill Skool feature and Youth Team Captain for the Blues, Tom hopes to establish himself firmly as a potential first team player of tomorrow.
Tim Hopkinson – Nottingham Forest FC
Tim is a former Apprentice at Nottingham Forest. Hailing from Nottingham, the centre-forward hooes to make an impact at the City Ground. Follow Tim’s progress as he strives to be awarded with a professional contract at the Championship club.
