Hello All, let us introduce ourselves and the reason for our blog.

After being released by our clubs, we were lucky enough to be selected to embark on LFE’s Leonardo Player Placement Programme which meant the four of us have been funded for 19 weeks to play for Racing Club Portuense in Spain.

Collectively we will be keeping you updated on our progress and experiences whilst in Seville. Our quartet is made up of: Josh Dale (ex-Rochdale), Connor Grogan (ex-Coventry City), Tom Corner (ex-Grimsby Town) & Lewis Parker (ex-Bristol Rovers).

Alex Wynter – Crystal Palace FC

Hello Readers, I’m Alex Wynter and I am 17 years old. I will start my second year as an Apprentice at Crystal Palace in the 2011/12 season. I signed a three year professional deal in 2010 after working my way up through the club since I joined as a nine year old. I made my first team debut in the FA Cup against Sheffield Wednesday on the 2nd January 2010 at the age of 16 and have been on the bench a number of times since. I can play in central midfield and centre back and at the moment I’m really enjoying my time at Crystal Palace with my aim to break into the first team squad.

Hello All! I’m Jon Haynes… I am into my third season at Walsall after having my Apprenticeship extended because of an injury I sustained last year. I am travelling with the U18’s squad to Holland for our pre-season tour. It will be me blogging from our camp because unfortunately I have dislocated my shoulder preventing me from playing but don’t worry I can still type! Thankyou for your comments.

Hello, my name is Patrick Nzuzi and I am a 1st Year Apprentice at Newcastle United. I’m originally from the Congo and I moved to England five years ago. My football involvement started at Wallsend Boys Club and I was scouted from there by Newcastle United. I have now been with the club since I was 13 and was delighted to sign as an Apprentice this summer. I am currently operating as a Right Back or Right Winger in the Club’s Academy and I look forward to keeping you updated about life as an Apprentice at St James’ Park over the course of this season.

After being released by Watford FC’s Academy back in 2007, James was given the opportunity to try out for a new sport via the Pitch2Podium talent transfer programme. James has transferred his skills into another sport which could take him all the way to the Olympic Games.
